Might be too woke but I think those fics/arts that are about the horses real life deaths with the Umas are a bit ironic

Like, the franchise is made to keep the horses legacies living on, make them live keep on living in people's memories even after their death, they make sure to give the horses who passed from injuries/diseases a story that makes them live beyond that, that makes them overcome their problems and live on
