Today I wanted to give big thanks to Hest 1, who's been spray painting this beautiful wildstyle piece in my back alley for the past few days. I got permission of these walls where me and my artist friends have been painting murals in honour of our homie Ak1ra, who was one of Montreal's first Graffiti artists in the early 80s, and who passed away last year to cancer. My girlfriend @themetanoist and good friend @adidafallenangel had nice pieces on this same wall but some taggers bombed them over with some quick throw ups. Even if it wasn't a memorial spot, I don't understand why anybody would do a quick tag to ruin a hard worked piece. There is enough spots for everybody. I want to say that the whole graffiti vs street art "war" is good for nothing, we are all artists expressing ourselves in the urban environment, hopefully making it more beautiful or at least interesting. Please, let's all stop finding reasons to divide ourselves and fight over our differences. Humanity is beautiful because of our diversity! Just because the next person goes differently about something it doesn't mean they are against you, so let's all respect each other in our personal ways of expression, may it be art, culture, religion, or whatever preference.
