MIKOKO IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE REUNION SHOT

little animators' goodbyes at the end. i love that 1) it's incorporated into the scene that's very cute 2) it's clear that a lot of the ppl who worked on kaiji also worked on akagi and still have a fondness for it. there's a mikoko there's a kaiji crying what's not to love yknow

#i've never thought that about someone before but. well. he looks like a stinkbug to me #spoilers for k.aiji pt 2 and for the blood match against iwao here (idk what the arc is called sorry)#but i absolutely adore the moments when fukumoto jumps the shark they're so funny. for me in k.aiji it's 100% the 'we tilted the building #by weighing it down before the gamble started'. so far for akagi it's the 'i put more blood in me before i got here so i had bonus blood'#he's full to bursting with blood. folks methinks your blorbo's a gusher #i knew bc of the extremely overt christ/satan imagery going on (idk if it's so over the top in the manga but in the anime it's like.#Really prominent) that there was gonna be a resurrection moment (since there's nothing else that's really christlike about akagi)#but 'psych i had them put extra blood in me earlier just in case so im back in action' is admittedly not what i thought would happen #bonus blood....#he did the blood equivalent of the 5 person car with one person lying across the laps of the 3 ppl in back maneuver #he literally ENLISTED for god's hardest(?) battle: hypertension #fkmt #akagiposting #akagi shigeru #akagi the genius who descended into darkness

got distracted but i came on here to say that washizu betting his own blood has me so hyped. you had an out old man!! you had several!!!

#akagi spoilers #i love how kneejerk it is. he didn't think it through at all #im excited for the following round to feature him realizing what he's done and crashing out (or perhaps getting a second second wind)#over this yayy yay.#they're gonna suck peepaw iwao dry (a bit more literally this time (but not as literally as they could bow chicka wow woww))#fkmt #akagiposting #k.aiji spoilers ahead:#obviously the betting ccs is most similar (again im comparing it to k.aiji duh always) to e-card's drill but this whole time it's reminded #me most structurally? i guess? of one poker. these are both high compliments of course #and the antag finally putting their life (in the immediate physical sense) on the line at the climax is similar and (again) rocks #though i am kind of surprised yasuoka and ougi didn't have anything to say about it. no objections? really? you're down to kill #this guy even though you walked in here thinking you'd just take his money? mkay #and you know shit's getting good in a fkmt series when people start getting wobbly #i was kind of missing that since akagi's such a stoic figure lol

idk why i didn't expect this but it's kinda funny that akagi (anime) ends during intermission

#it's the best they could do i know that. it's honestly a pretty good stopping point afaik #but still. geez #im glad we're seeing akagi in actual danger. though the fact that he's not showing any symptoms of his blood loss kinda makes that #mostly meaningless. it's progress though #i started getting better at guessing the twists and turns (not in a bad way) and i now am once again thinking evil thoughts (that i should #learn how to play mahjong)#once again thank you y.akuza kiwami for teaching me the basics even though i still couldn't consistently make a winning hand following your #instructions. being able to read the tiles helps a lot and if that's all i got out of it that's still pretty useful atm #i still would like to learn how to play though. not that i'd be good at it (<- not super good at holding thoughts in my head longterm..#could never be a wizard but could be alright as a vibes-based quick player. maybe. eventually)#not sure if im gonna jump into reading it right away or not. i probably will #im kinda surprised it's only around 300 chapters? idk why but i really thought it'd be comparable in length to k.aiji #anyway good show. gotta go find that soundtrack gotta go read that manga. hot dog #fkmt #akagiposting
