like in regards to prev post: the fact that ppl only viewed mizuki being transgender as "canon" after mizu5 is a perfect example of what exactly i mean, because like... middle school mizuki. aka pre transition mizuki. we've had the context of literally seeing mizuki before her transition for literal years, yet up until mizu5 (and some ppl persist to this day) people simultaneously complained abt it not being canon and did everything in their power to discredit the idea of mizuki being transgender. it's a kind of interesting trend i've noticed
sorry i'm thinking abt smth rq. it's a bit baffling to me how many people complain abt pjsk not being "queer enough" yet at the same time do everything in their power to try and discredit any possible queer interpretations of the text. like people will spend hours going "well actually there's no way that minori has a crush on haruka because that's just Standard Fan Behavior, and actually the date an and kohane went on is entirely platonic and can't be seen as romantic because of japanese cultural norms," and then complain on why there aren't "canon" relationships and why they're being "queerbaited".
