something had shifted. something had pulled her close. and when reaching the surface, the sun greets her. too bright and too burning for her liking. as it has always been. at least from what she could remember. there is however, something that catch her attention. and for a moment, it feels like the world tilts out of frame. like maybe she isn't supposed to witness this. eyes follow the form, higher, higher, higher. until she can't see it anymore. a small dot disappearing into the golden shine. the pricking in eyes that follow, blinking away the dots of looking into the sun for too long.
no, it doesn't end there. of course it doesn't. what goes up, must eventually come down. the wings. the limp limbs. and showing no sign of stopping. no sign of slowing down. the ocean has always been her friend. ever since she stepped off the plank, and met it's cold embrace. perhaps it would be the same for this one. curiousity takes her however. she glide beneath the surface and when he hits, he is easily located further ahead. waiting, she watch, slowly circling him.
no reason to be here. and she should let him sink. sink to the bottom of the ocean & never to resurface. closer, closer, closer for each turn, until hand grab his in passing, other curling around his wrist. pulling upwards. not down. instinct was a fickle thing. especially men. the need to pull them in. the need to pull them down. this need to make them pay for what they did to her. this one feel different however. not that she could put a finger on it but . . . it's there. shifting when reaching the surface, so his head can rest on her shoulder. so he can breath. and she observe him closely. takes him in, as if he very well might be the most interesting thing she has seen in quite some time.
