"Why are you running? WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?!" Cherry roars as she runs after you, the blush still spread on her cheeks. You giggle at the amusing sight but don't stop running.
Meanwhile, Kyojuro laughs in the distance at the scene, while Tanjiro tries to fruitlessly stop Cherry from his place, sweatdropping and apologizing to Rengoku.
"Young Kamado," Kyojuro speaks once his laughter dies down, catching the redhead's attention who, at the sight of a solemn look on behalf of the flame hashira, changes his expression.
"How did you learn Young Cherry was the one?"
The question takes him aback, and draws his gaze to the brunette who's giggling and playfully fighting with her friend, a bright smile adorns her features and has his heart beating on his chest.
Surely, it is a difficult question to answer. Tanjiro has to take his time to think about it because, when it comes to love...
"It wasn't only just one thing... I think, I think that when you fall in love with someone, you learn to love every part of them, and as a whole." Tanjiro reflects, smiling now at the sight of his wife on the floor apologizing, giggling and begging you for mercy.
Light. Fire. Love. Bliss.
Those are the adjectives that cross his mind. But he realizes that it is not only that.
"She makes me happy." The confession rolls off his tongue as if it was not as clear as water. Kyojuro raises his eyebrows slightly and then smiles; Tanjiro's sight drops to his calloused hands which intertwine together.
"But as a matter of fact..." He continues, "She knew... She knew even before I knew. At first I didn't understand what she was saying, but one day she simply came to me and confessed— I can't really explain it but..." Tanjiro smiles as he remembers, his gaze never leaving her forms.
"She just sees what no one else can."
The last sentence sticks in Kyojuro's mind. To see you in a way that no one else can. To see things that no one else can see.
"W-what about you, Rengoku-san? How did you know Kirei-san was the one?"
Kyojuro takes a moment to ponder his answer. Not because he wasn't sure but because there isn't just a single thing. Kyojuro looks back to the day you met him, strolling through his memories of your first kiss, your wedding, your honeymoon.
This morning. When the light kissed your beautiful face and Kyojuro just contemplated you like you are his light.
"You see, Young Kamado," He points up where the sun is hot and bright, "The sun brings life and it brings light. No matter how many storms, or how many long, cold nights, the sun will always be there to shine again on everyone."
And what is the sun if not a star? A big fireball?
Kyojuro closes his eyes after glancing at you, still playing with Cherry, and turns back to Tanjiro. His lips curve into a whole hearted smile that could make the very same gods cry.
You are his sun on Earth. His lovely Kakyuu.
Tanjiro's crimson eyes gleam, as if he could touch Kyojuro's heart and feel for a second what he was feeling. And it was the same — different, yet so similar.
When you and Cherry come again to the scene — dishevelled and covered in just a bit of dirt — both men smile.
"Yeah, it's suddenly quiet... Kyo?"
Especially Kyojuro, who is not oblivious at the way you're rising your eyebrow at him, and he just lets out a soft laugh.
"We both are just so lucky to have you." He simply confesses, not guilty at all for the fluster and rushed heartbeats his statement caused.
I went and hid my face in my husband's chest as my face heated from his words. I whined softly when he laughed at our embarrassment before he grabbed me by the shoulders. I looked up at him rather shyly since my face was still dirty from playing with Cherry.
Kyoujuro smiled down at me, placing his hand on my cheeks and wiping the smear of dirt off my face. "Even though I find you beautiful in any state, you my dear need another bath."
Cherry laughed loudly, teasing me about my disheveled looks before I shot back that she was in a worse state, reminding her of the leaves that were still tangled in her curly brown hair. She flushed red as Tanjirou quickly grabbed her around the waist to stop her from tackling me again.
"Forgive us, Kirei-san." He quickly apologized as he struggled to hold his wife down. "Bunny!" he scolded lightly.
I simply laughed at Cherry's antics when she instantly froze in his arms and nuzzled into his chest. Cherry could never not do anything the redhead asked of her. It was honestly so cute and I hoped that Kyoujuro and I would have a happy marriage like they did.
"As much I know I will regret saying this," I sighed out, catching my best friend's attention, "But I do love seeing you and Tanji together. It make me hopeful that Kyou and I will have a long and happy marriage. You and Tanji are goals and I love seeing you two thrive."
My fingers went to tough the vibrant stone with my husband's name etched into the side, rubbing my thumb over it. '"Kyou and I will have a long and happy marriage. I love him more than life itself and just as Cherry would do anything for you, Tanji, I'll do anything for Kyou. He's my partner, my Sun, my Moon, the very Air I breathe."
Kyoujuro pulled me close into his side and kissed my forehead, linger a bit longer than what was necessary. His way of telling me that he was going to shower me in kisses once we were alone. "Cherry, thank you for the wonderful gift. I love it ad you so much!"
We left our husbands' arms to embrace each other warmly. I really did love and appreciate my best friend. She was the one person other than Kyoujuro I would gladly die for.
