Amado offers Kawaki a deal: he'll unlock Kawaki's power limiters so he can go on his suicide mission to fight Code and the Divine Trees. However, Kawaki needs to resurrect Akebi with his karma first.
Kawaki refuses to resurrect Akebi before killing Code, because this girl has major Final Boss energy. Amado does not deny this.
Sumire spends the whole chapter in the corner making a Surprised Pikachu Face at every development.
Meanwhile, Konohamaru completely beefs his seduction mission. His only job was to lure Matsuri into a false sense of security, and then he asks her not to refer to him as "Konohamaru-chan" because it's too familiar. Only Moegi gets to call him that. Matsuri then goes into yandere mode and prepares to kill her crush.
The chuunins somehow screw up their part of the plan even worse. When Ryu arrives, Yodo shows such obvious bloodlust that he can immediately tell this is a trap. Sarada's claims Yodo is safe; she just has resting bitch face. Yodo agrees, claiming all true ninja have resting bitch face.
Sarada then suggests Ryu use his thorn bulb as bait for Boruto. Ryu pretends to fall for the trick, but really he's using a fake thorn bulb made of sand as bait for Yodo. She goes full Leeroy Jenkins and races for the thorn bulb, exposing the team's plot in under a minute.
Ryu coats all the chuunin with iron sand and puppeteers their bodies to fight each other. Somehow Araya counters the jutsu by swinging his sword Loadstone (sic) in the air really hard. All the iron sand is then sealed into his sword. Part of me wishes Araya's sword had acted like a real lodestone and collected a giant clump of sand on the tip like a cotton candy stick.
Tl;dr: Kawaki's getting a power-up, and Team Konohamaru and Team Sand completely screw up the desert mission.
