Here’s how two of the intended Tale of Genji groupings can work :D You can also put Suzaku and Akikonomu together if they were your OTP instead
As I finish more, I’ll be able to create more groupings!

One Who Loves Autumn, 2018 Fude de mannen, fountain pen ink, watercolour
Akikonomu - Ise Priestess, then Ise Consort, then EMPRESS, and the lady of autumn - is not only charming and witty but also a wonderful painter. Her mother is the Rokujo Haven, who (before she dies) tells Genji to please take care of her and NO FUNNY BUSINESS WITH YOUR PANTS MISTER. He seems to bear this in mind, for the most part, and does a decent job putting his connections and resources towards positioning her to become Empress.
At first the Reizei Emperor (about 13 at the time) is a bit intimidated by her since she’s older, but they become friends very quickly because of their shared passion for art. He thinks her paintings are so pretty, and they start painting together and doing pictures for each other, which I (being a totally not biased artist) thought was the most adorable thing ever.
She has a playful argument going with Murasaki (lady of spring) about whose season is better. This “argument” consists mostly of them sending each other poetry and gifts from their respective gardens.
This piece was a bit challenging because I wanted her to work well with the other ladies of the seasons, and of course with Reizei (coming up next). I also wanted her to sit well with Suzaku, who was also in love with her until Genji messed up the chance for that relationship. Fortunately their colour schemes are already so similar.
