Laura Lee sending letters To All The Girls She’s Loved Before:

1. Van Palmer: Her childhood best friend who she once fell in love with long ago (but only for two weeks!!). Van knows about the letters, and she was actually the one to encourage Laura Lee to write them in the first place. They laugh about it because they still very much love each other—just, not like THAT.

2. Akilah: Another love that didn’t last long, but unlike her love for Van, her love for Akilah was more distinctly romantic. The letter is sweet and heartfelt, but Laura Lee knows that while it may have been there, it really wasn’t meant to last. They still remain good friends!

3. Natalie Scatorccio: The hardest one to write about. How do you even write about someone like Natalie Scatorccio? Laura Lee waxes poetic about her—her eyes that constantly betrayed how much she cared, the way her blonde hair hugged her face, and the casual pats on the back she’d give Laura Lee during games and practices. Laura Lee knows nothing will come out of it, but she can’t help herself. She pretends not to really know Nat because it’s easier to pretend, but it’s actually just as easy to notice the little things that made her tick. Laura Lee keeps this one to herself, or at least she tries to, because Nat has always tried to push people away, but will that also be the case for Laura Lee?

4. Lottie Matthews: The easiest one to write about. How can you not write about Lottie Matthews? To Laura Lee, she’s the best that the world has got to offer. There’s no one else in this world who Laura Lee would want to understand more than she wants to understand Lottie. She wonders if she’s right about how Lottie’s softer smiles are reserved for her, and the thought of it makes her head spin. She’s excited to take on the world with Lottie Matthews by her side, if she’d let her, of course.
