Bored at work question/challenge: rank your favorite symphogear girls (or just talk about your faves, whichever)! For clarification, I mean Hibiki, Tsubasa, Chris, Maria, Shirabe, & Kirika, but up to you if wanna include Miku and or/Kanade.

If you're REALLY bored, I'd be interested in your feelings on any of the antags too (Finé, Carol & her Autoscorers, the Bavarian Illuminati girlies, and the Noble Red girls).

This is a difficult decision, because I love all of these girlies so so much. They're all very gay and severely traumatised, which I appreciate in a character. My ranking would probably change from day to day, but today it's something like this:

Hibiki. I actually really relate to her trauma of being bullied and socially ostracised, though in my case it was because I was too gay and autistic to fit in, not because a famous pop star died protecting me. Also, I like how she doesn't use weapons because she needs her hands to hold other girls' hands.

Chris. I relate to how she's so traumatised that she has trouble dealing with the affections of all the lesbians around her. But they still love her all so much, making her the center of the nuclear hazard symbol that is the Symphogear polycule.

Tsubasa. I thought the storyline of her dealing with her fascist grandfather's expectations was really moving, especially with how the expectation to be strong (a "sword") became a weakness to her in season 3.

Shirabe. I love the cooking manga, and she's at the center of that one.

Kirika. She has a fun Symphogear design, is very gay for Shirabe, and they both have some nice angst with the linker plotline. Other than that, she doesn't have a ton going for her, but I still love her.

Maria. Her story is a bit of a rehash/ mashup of Chris' and Tsubasa's, but it's still fun and moving. My girlfriend and I also have an inside joke about her, which is fun.

And of course, my favourite Symphogear character is Cagliostro, for being such an inspiration as a transfem:

I don't have any red river hog-specific facts, but I will say that I think it's cool how pigs' snouts are specially adapted for digging up underground foods like plant roots and insect larvae. Not really the organ you'd expect an animal to use for that, but pigs are clearly successful with it.

Mmmh, I love a lot of the gay horsies, but I think my top 5 would be:

Oguri Cap. Love the big eater horse.

Special Week. She runs faster when she thinks more gay thoughts about her girlfriend.

Gold Ship. The lolrandom humour horse is always funny.

El Condor Pasa. The luchador mask is genetic. She also secretly has a pet bird.

Agnes Digital. Himejoshi horse.

Also shout out to Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet for being such a great romantic couple rivalry.
