imagine you are lyonel baratheon and you meet duncan who by all means should not have survived as long as he has but he is too charming for his own good so you offer him what is basically a happily ever after and he REFUSES just to do side quest around the world for a decade. so then you have a daughter and you're like "ok! it didn't work out for me but now my daughter will marry a duncan, SURELY" but then the guy is like "ummm actually, no. matter of fact i will give up the crown to not marry your daughter." i'd rebel against the king too

having very normal thoughts about aerion owning some sort of bdsm torture basement back at home and daeron just sits there in a corner, quietly dissociating, at times when brothels become too much and he has nowhere to go to.

maybe in a delirium fever he begs aerion to whip him just for dreams to go away for a while, maybe he wants to be hurt so bad to experience nothing but a white noise in his poor mind.

that is something daeron will entrust only to him, knowing that aerion treats his preferences equally as a pure entertainment and a matter so serious it demands full concentration. daeron is not so fond of pain of course, he is a shitty knight who flees from a tournament, from being kicked off a horse's saddle, from being an embarrassment and a disgrace. but that's all sudden pain, uncontrolled and sharp, aerion is different. daeron thinks he's different, used to believe in so. aerion will happily indulge in whatever activity to help his dearest brother, to hear his tired groans shift into not-so-pleasure but a relief, finally having his mind completely blank in a whole week, the way even wine and whores won't cease it.

aerion being hammeranvils velcro kid kills me like the only kid that will hang out with them is their chud son who doesn't understand "peace" or "quiet" but it's kinda heartwarming?? like aerion just constantly pestering them to tell him stories of their battles because he thinks his parents are the coolest people in the world so they can't even be annoyed

the way lyonel tries to appear so nonchalant when he says "hey, you could come with me" as if it just occurred to him, as if he wasn't that very morning practicing in front of a mirror what he would say to dunk. he's acting like he hasn't got the baby names picked out

i promise you whatever you think of dunkaerion will be made ten times better if you would stop excluding egg from that story. dunkaerion is about egg. that's why it works. it's about the moments where dunk thinks about aerion with lust just once and then is eaten alive by guilt whenever he looks at egg. they should both be tortured and repulsed by the fact that they want each other because to aerion is humiliating to want someone that egg respects and loves and to dunk it's despicable to think kindly of egg's abuser

i love the idea of baelor being the paragon of virtue that he is, all the while having feelings for maekar and this being the one thing that compromises him and the one thing that he can't "make right" about himself. him being jealous when maekar is with dyanna, and taking pleasure in all the moments he spends with maekar alone, even if he knows that he is stealing maekar away from the family that maekar loves, baelor just can't help it. and every moment alone that he shares with maekar makes him feel so happy but it also makes him feel treacherous

this off screen daerion interaction makes me go wild. of course aerion will keep his brother's honor as he keeps everything else daeron gives him, be it intentionally or not
