Although this is more serious than my usual content, and although it isn't perfect, I made this as tribute and wanted to bring attention to the Yu Menglong case
If I'm bring honest, I haven't heard of him until after he died, and I regret it. Even though I've heard about him only recently, hearing about this case breaks my heart. It wasn't a suicide, it wasn't an accident, it was torture and murder. I really hope he gets the justice he needs

I don’t watch c-dramas or know much about Chinese media but I’m posting about this anyway because I feel very strongly about it. (gentle TW for mentions of violence and suicide)
A young Chinese actor by the name of Yu Menglong has been brutally murdered by wealthy and powerful individuals within China, and the CCP are protecting his killers by claiming he committed suicide.
There’s misinformation about this case going around online, both AI and human generated. But there are trustworthy sources. Here is one incredible video that goes into great detail (~1hr 30mins, part 2 should be up in about a week), and another that’s more condensed (~30mins) but no less credible.
Yu Menglong was kind-hearted and humble. He taught schoolchildren, engaged kindly with fans, and donated his earnings to children with cancer, natural disaster relief, and public libraries. If you, like me, believe that this man - and the many others like him who have “committed suicide” within the past few decades - deserves justice, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION! The goal is at least 500,000 signatures and we are almost there.
