It was the tail end of the mid-afternoon foot traffic, and Fane had spent the last hour or so playing his violin non-stop. He knew he'd have marks on his neck from the chin rest, but the overflowing cup of coins and the fact that he'd had to empty it once already made it worth the strange looks he'd get for a few days until the marks faded.
Fane was about to pack it up and head to the tavern and see about getting the room in the back that was a little nicer than the others since he could afford it now when he saw a woman looking towards him. She looked both like she was intrigued by the music but simultaneously trying to blend into the crowd. He smiled towards her, transitioning to play something softer and more beautiful.
At the conclusion of the composition, Fane pulled the violin away from his chin and took a bow, knowing the only real audience he had at present was the young woman. "Are you an admirer of all music, or are you a particular admirer of the violin?"
