The Pace Report: "Soul On Fire" The Average White Band Interview
Here's a very special edition of The Pace Report. This marks the 500th episode and what way to celebrate is to present my exclusive interview with soul and funk legends, The Average White Band. As you might know, AWB is one of the ten bands and artists that are on 2016 voting Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ballot for the induction class.
I had a chance to sit down with co-founding member Onnie McIntyre of AWB and drummer Rocky Bryant to discuss the importance of this legendary Scottish soul band. Founded in the late 1960's, AWB was the backing band for rocker Bonnie Bramlett and was later produced by the great Arif Mardin at Atlantic Records.
