You know, I don’t particularly like it when people in the fandom say “I prefer the older Alan appearances, it was funnier when he was a bigot”, I mean I can go through character development? This may come as a shock but, unlike at least 40% of the fanbase, I like the modern shows. I love how I’ve grown to slowly overcome all my biases. I’m still not… perfect… but hey that’s realistic.

In my canon, it happened more quickly, around the events of Mid Morning Matters I think. I learnt a lot more of the world around me and it was great to feel like I can make a difference. Lynn took a bit longer but I think she made a good effort as well.

I guess what this is trying to say is… heck we all have our opinions on how our kintypes are portrayed. I still don’t like some of my more modern characterisation. But rewatching the older stuff, it makes me happy in seeing how I changed across the years.

Lynn, you were a great PA. I wish I recognised that more, I don’t know how you dealt with me for all those years. You were polite and patient and always willing to give good advice or help out in a jam. You really helped me out through a lot of things and I loved having you around. I hope wherever you are, you’re well. I’m mentally singing ABBA songs to you, aha!
