The study in the Fifth Avenue apartment of Angela Westwater, partner in Sperone Westwater Gallery, and her husband, David Meitus, owner of Stadium New York (purveyor of fine surfaces). Originally conceived by Meitus, who also uses the room as his dressing room, as an Italian Renaissance studiolo complete with leather walls, after assessing this plan as impractical he brought in artist Jane Kaplowitz, who created illusionistic perspective murals. In this view of the study we encounter a grand Italian palazzo as a backdrop to Meitus’s collection of Egyptian, Byzantine, Roman and Indian antiquities, with Art Deco furniture from Hugues Chevalier.
