1. What is your favorite quote?
There are too many. Here are some of my favorites:
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring." —Chuck Palahniuk
"If you are not long, I will wait for you all my life." — Oscar Wilde
"It is what you read when you don't have to that will determine what you will be when you can't help it." —Oscar Wilde
"A bore is someone who deprives you of solitude without providing you with company." — Oscar Wilde (basically everything Oscar Wilde has ever said).
"What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the print I have read in my life." — Walt Whitman
2. If you knew today had been your last day, do you have any regrets?
So many. Which is sad because I make a point of trying not to have any regrets when I die. I wish I hadn't gotten out of bed. That I'd worked a bit harder. That I got to do everything I dreamed of. *stares off into distance while thinking existential thoughts*
3. What is one thing you were afraid of in your childhood but are no longer afraid of?
The dark and being wrong. I used to be terrified of being wrong or less than perfect so I never really participated in anything. Now I'm happy to be wrong about everything :).
4. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?
Paris. I've never been. Or Italy. I would really love to eat my way across those two.
5. If you could chose a different career than what you currently than what you have, what would you do?
Professional napper. Nah. I think I'd try and be a performer of some sort. Or a photographer/graphic designer.
6. Do you think you stress over the little things too much?
Stressing over the little things is an uncanny talent of mine. I literally sometimes spend a good 20-30 minutes debating whether or not I should put a comma in a sentence.
7. Pick your favorite character. Say you were living that character’s life. What things would you do differently than what they did?
Oh Eponine. I would have jumped off of Ship Marius and not given my life for someone who barely gave a second thought for me after the ultimate sacrifice. I know that's not the point, and that the tragedy of it all makes it poignant, but no thanks.
8. If your life was a television show, what would it be? Drama? Sitcom? Romance? Sci-Fi? Etc?
I would really like my life to be an absurdist dramedy full of non sequitors and some fantastical elements. But in actuality, it would probably be a sitcom about my disastrous love life or lack thereof while trying to forge a career in NYC, in which viewers think my friends are better characters, I'm too whiney, and part of no one's OTP. But not Girls. My life is not like Girls at all.
9. Favorite book as a child?
10. Have you ever done something that you look back now and regret?
So many things. Mostly small. Some big. But one of my bigger regrets was trying to be popular in middle school and really not understanding how my 'friends' were terrible people. I lost my childhood best friend around that time, partially because our paths drifted and partially because I think she finally wised up to the fact that I wasn't actually all that good to her.
We've mostly got nothing in common now besides a shared past, but I can't help but think that maybe if I'd had the courage to be a nicer person, we'd still be friends.
11. Your house/home is on fire, and you can only take one thing to save from the fire. What do you take? (Note this can be a person or pet, too.)
I probably die in the fire trying to figure out the one thing/person I want to save....It's probably a stuffed animal.
I tag: ulooklikehell, girlwiththefandomtattoo, thegirlofpensandbooks, tomorrowatdawn, alaska-ackerman, wannabesewcrafty, picturesoitlasts, hihiyas, norwegianalien, and anyone else who hasn't been tagged for this meme yet. I'm fairly certain everybody else has already.
1. You win one million dollars but the next day aliens come and destroy the world. What do you do with it? (Can you tell I'm still not over Heathers?)
2. If you had to choose between your greatest ambition or your greatest romance, which would you pick?
3. What is the trait you most hate in yourself?
4. Describe your idea of complete and utter happiness.
5. What is your most treasured possession?
6. Name one of your greatest pet peeves.
7. You don't have to be a nice person to be a good one. True or False?
8. Who are your favorite authors?
9. What kind of characteristics do you look for in a friend?
10. Say you could choose how you die. How would it happen?
11. Jafar tricks you into retrieving the lamp from the Cave of Wonders. Like Aladdin, you use up one wish to get yourself out of the cave and promise to use your last one to set the Genie free, leaving you with only one wish (unless you're a lying bastard). Just as as you're about to use your one wish to get something you've always dreamed of, you learn a terrible disaster is about to strike in another part of the world that will kill thousands. What do you do?
