The first picture I took at 11:42pm and the second at 11:50pm. Josh and I have been marvelling about how beautiful the sky is here in Alaska. We can tell it's different from what we've seen in Tennessee and Pennsylvania. While I was taking both these pictures and walking around as I looked at the sky it hit me. The sun doesn't really set here. It will dip down behind the mountains, but as it moves in the sky it doesn't have as much of an arch to make throughout the day. So once the sun finishes it's arched movement for the day, it will then slowly rotate back to where it needs to be to start the next morning without it setting and we get to see how that light hits the clouds, and sky, in different angles. Basically like one very long and absolutely stunning sunset. #AKSky #AlaskaSky #Landofthemidnightsun #JuneSky #stunning #sunset #angles #perspective #lighting #nofilter (at Fairbanks, Alaska)
