Some sillies since writer’s block now has me by the neck
I drew them months ago, but since the fic is live now, I figured I should drop the sisters here too. They're tertiary characters in A Better Tomorrow, but still play a significant role in the background lore of the AU. They're also expys of old OCs from an original story I've had on the backburner for a while.
Alba is the Cross Syndicate's leader and the head of its secondary front as a bodyguard service, a tall, formidable woman with a presence that commands attention, and is well-versed in politics and supernatural affairs. Very little escapes her eyes, and she has gained a lot of respect from those she has hired, and despite her cold and stony demeanor, she is a fair and respectful boss, viewing her staff with value and appreciation. She is currently trying to find the status and whereabouts of her adopted daughter, Kira.
Selene is the younger of the two (by less than an hour, according to her), and acts as Alba's second-in-command and head of the Syndicate's primary front as a hospital. She's the more approachable of the two, witty and charming with a kind voice and a playful sense of humor, but she's no less terrifying than her sister, and is often left in charge of the Syndicate in her sister's stead when Alba is out on field missions or meetings.
The two sisters share a strong bond built of both a healthy upbringing and shared trauma, having both been kidnapped and experimented on by Urbanshade as young girls. Thanks to the dedication and knowledge of their mother, they were able to mostly reclaim their human bodies, although they still bear the curse of longevity brought on by the mutations, and will outlive a good portion of their relatives if not the Syndicate itself. The procedure their mother invented has been honed many times over the years, and is now shared with rescued Urbanshade experiments, if they so desire it. Selene oversees the procedure personally, being in charge of the faction that does it.
