Daily MCO Drink #361, MCO Day #363: STONE FENCE, made with 50ml Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey, topped up with Albens Apple and Strawberry Cider over ice. A drink that dates back to the 1800s, with cognac, bourbon, applejack and rum commonly used in place of the rye whiskey. I like the rye version cos it has a drier, spicier note to it. The cider needs to be of decent quality as well, and not too sweet as to overpower the whiskey. Albens Cider tasting at Taps Beer Bar. A cider brewed in Bali, which is actually pretty good. . Original Apple Cider: Very nice easy refreshing cider that is not too sickly sweet like a lot of the more commercial ciders. Don’t need ice also LOL. . Apple and Mango Cider: Slightly sweeter, but the mango really comes out nicely and goes with the apple notes as well. .
