For the sake of your blog's title, what are your top six (or any number, even) sonatas?
Off the top of my head, in the order they came to me:
Beethoven op 109 - so intimate and unorthodox
Schubert #21 in Bb, D.960 - esp. 2nd mvt
Haydn #20 in Cminor - Hob. XVI/20 - this was on one of my earliest records, with Mikhail Pletnev performing
Mozart F major, K332 - this is the first full sonata I ever learned
Beethoven op 110 - the fugues!
Berg Piano Sonata Op. 1 - one movement so perfect it requires nothing further
