       it does not matter how many times he meets beings over hundreds of years old, whether human or not. but there is this sense of awe, even if he does not show it. ( he does have a reputation that he’d like to keep ) and it’s with a cool expression he watches the Doctor in front of him go about her business. all the while Stephen knows an ancient and powerful artifact hangs around her neck. or at least a signature of one if it's not currently there.

    does he say something? he thinks he knows who stands before him, but he didn’t come here looking for anyone. so everything is a surprise. serendipity. “Excuse me, where’s the HUC?” as if Doctor Stephen Strange didn’t know his way around a nurse station.

“Huh? What d’you mean?” Fitz asked, looking up and then at his watch, which had somehow stopped without his noticing. 

“Wait, is it a.m. or p.m.?” he asked, looking around the darkened room but seeing nothing to tell him better what time it might be.

    ancient name teeters on the tip of his tongue, and he wonders how many others like her walk the Earth still. “Bathsheba, i had a few clues, but even i admit without the biggest one; alchemy. i don’t think i’d have figured you out without some help.” he is - humbled by her presence. “forgive me, what you hold -” Stephen makes a gesture to The Eye of Agamotto, using it as an example of what hangs around her neck. “i now know it’s in good hands.”

            He wasn’t one to intrude on strangers very much. Well, no, that was a lie - he was. But he wasn’t usually lost when he did it, and usually his intrusions involved his fingers in their pockets.

To say he was a little beat up was a bit of anunderstatement, a purpling bruise under his eye a clear indicator that it hadgot a little heavy handed. It had hardly been fair to fight back until that point,better to apprehend a subject intact as opposed to giving them a reason to keeptheir mouth shut. But it quickly became a matter of keeping the civiliansaround them safe, and Steve didn’t have much choice but to go on the defensiveand put an end to the frenzy as soon as possible. The pain didn’t faze him atall, he’d been through worse, it was the fact that the subject had ended upmore than he’d wanted them to “I had to put up a fight…” He rubbed at his jaw,it was throbbing, “Someone wasn’t particularly keen to get picked up…”
