it's really funny you sent this because honestly out of everyone i would have to say that the most creative headcanons i have ever seen are from you layilil. you are one of the most creative and adaptive writers i have seen on the dashboard. your commitment to wanda has cemented you as one of the greatest / most well known blogs in the community for years. i love reading your tidbits about wanda's relationships with her children, her family, her loves, her in different universes. you've taken a character that is treated so poorly in media (looking at the mcu) and made her so well thought out. @nexusbeing

⭐️ ― convincing portrayal of a canon character

this should come as no surprise that i firmly believe one of the most well-written portrayals of any muse i have ever seen on tumblr roleplay is Mara characters. this goes to leia and lois particularly, but man any character she picks up on her multi-muse, even susan storm who she's just brought back. my blog is a love letter to one of, if not the, most talented and beloved writers in the world. also how is she such a talented writer AND a surgeon????? i love mara. every thread she writes i think holy f this is leia organa or lois lane. a talent that will never be forgotten. @loisjoanne / @aldereign

it's a strange kind of purgatory she finds herself in . . . not just a princess any longer, but not yet queen. like her mother, glimmer is caught in a dimension of nothingness. coronation day approaches at a rapid pace, and yet the days slog by. when she isn't locked in her room sobbing into bright moon's signature plush pink pillows, she's fielding condolence calls from etherian citizens and princesses alike. [ ARE THEY DISAPPOINTED ? DO THEY SENSE HER UNCERTAINTY ? ] glimmer composes herself long enough to receive leia in the war room. she deliberately avoids sitting — avoids deciding whether or not to take angella's empty chair — and opts to stand just beyond the threshold instead.

though they're practically the same age, leia seems so much older, so much wiser than she is. there's a certainty in the way she carries herself that makes glimmer want to collapse against her. she refrains, of course, but the thought passes through her like an ill wind regardless. leia's words help her remember that, as alone as she feels, she is not the only girl forced to go on without a mother. perhaps it's the age you lose them at that matters.

❛   i . . .   ❜ tears prick at the corners of her eyes, but she refuses to let them pass. the guards in the room who have known her since she was a baby shift uncomfortably. when she speaks again, her voice is only a whisper. ❛   none of this feels real. i don't know what to do. i don't know what i'm going to do.   ❜ her mother was supposed to live forever.

i'll tell you how i survive it. like there's some kind of handbook for orphaned children. glimmer tries to take solace in her kindness. her words ring familiar bells, reminding her of bow and adora's near-constant reassurance that she isn't going to go through this alone. she has the princess alliance. she has her friends. she has people like leia in her corner.

❝ er well... it was just suggestion. ❞ and clark though lois was fiery. this wasn't the kryptonians first time venturing space in a spaceship, but it was his first time heading straight through a space-pirate sector of this systems quadrant. who knew what might happen. taking a detour around this for safety would take too long to get to where they needed to go. yet, clark still tried to usher that idea to leia ... ❝ i just dont want you getting hurt. or blown up. ❞ clark fears even if this ship blew up and leia was int he cold expanse that chihuahua like demeanor would keep her impervious.

screams into the void - I have massive duplicate anxiety because once someone interacted with me on an original character using colin’s face claim. Okay. Sure. Fine. Whatever. Didn’t really vibe with them, was kinda creeped out - just something didn’t sit right and they always sent me asks and prompts that just kind of .. I don’t even know how to explain it lmao.. Well they ended up making a Killian about two weeks after they had been following me on their other blog. And literally their post about it was like ‘wanna write a popular character like taylor at (insert old url) so here goes hook!!” and people pointed it out to me and I was like, that’s weird. but, hey, no harm no foul. I didn’t follow their Killian, but I did let them continue following me on their original character. After a while some mutuals who followed both their blog and mine, started dropping links to icons and gifs that they had stolen from me. Stuff that I had made. I confronted them about it and because I’m a nice person, I let it go after our conversation and didn’t block them. (oh sweet honey child). IT GOT INSANE MARA - ABSOLUTELY INSANE. 

I’d make a verse and like bam two days later they would have the same one. They started taking headcanons of mine claiming they had read the book and it was just a general thought so (me being the petty 24 year old that I was - in my defense they were older than me lol) started referencing random NPCs from my imagination and acting like they were in barrie canon. Like I wrote meta about them and referenced the book and was literally just pulling stuff out of my ass. THEY STARTED USING THE SAME FUCKING CHARACTERS, I WAS SCREAMING. The last straw was they actually had the balls to copy a reply from my blog, change a few sentences in each paragraph and wrote it with a different character than who my starter was originally for.

I .. am ashamed to say it... threw hands. I did not handle it well. I confronted them over skype (oh skype. the good ol days) and they admitted to everything and played the victim by saying it wasn’t fair that I had the writing partners I did etc and that they just wanted to be able to write like I did, but they weren’t sure how to go about it and were afraid they’d just look dumb. Flattery meant to hide the fact they were straight up stealing. I blocked them on all of my accounts, changed my Killian blog so you could no longer right click to copy/paste text or save icons or gifs or anything like that, moved blogs and urls and went full on exclusive with people that I knew didn’t write with them because I didn’t even want to be seen on their dash. The fallout was.. insane. rpc shitstorm 2015-2016 honestly. People broke into these tribes of like ‘dont steal thats gross’ and ‘its roleplay your meta and stuff isnt your own let it go’ .  I honestly laugh about it now because there was so much drama all because someone literally couldn’t use their own damn brain to think for themselves.

So  now - oof. I stay clear of duplicates. I obviously have no ownership of Killian/Captain Hook and everyone is allowed to write who they wish ( and honestly, mate .. I applaud your muse choice)- but I will not allow those I do not know to follow me. Actually in all of my time here, I’ve only ever made friends with three duplicates. One I lost track of after I moved blogs and the two others are either completely inactive or on a hiatus (i miss you tabby !! i love you charlie!!). I am hyper aware of what is canon and what is my brain child and I’d be a nervous wreck if I actually had another duplicate that I didn’t know well and trust following me again. So I usually assume other Hooks feel the same way, and I stay in my lane. I allow some relaxation of this practice when it comes to multis - however, if Killian/Captain Hook is their only pirate muse/once upon a time character - I will not follow. And if someone decides to make a Hook after following me I will not follow and if a multi reblogs something from my blog and doesn’t have the brains to even pretend like they weren’t skulking around by going to the source - i hardblock. Life is too short. I don’t have time to worry about whether people are or are not creative.
