What would we like to change using local craft in Mariamma Nagar?
The children chose issues they felt needed to be addressed in their settlement. There were many, so they took a vote and chose 5: Mosquitos, open gutters, not enough green spaces, rubbish and recycling and fighting and bad language.
They wanted to know if other inhabitants felt these were issues too: So they prepared questionnaires, and we went in to the settlement once more to interview their neighbours. Some kids asked the questions, some were in charge of documenting, either writing down answers or photographing the session.
