ALED SIGHTING!
Guys, listen...
BIRTHDAY BOY IT'S ALED'S BIRTHDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABYY
Wishing everyone who enjoyed / related to Isaac’s plotline in Heartstopper S2 a very please read Radio Silence and Loveless by Alice Oseman.
Radio Silence is about Francis Janvier, a bisexual girl, and her friendship with Aled Last (the member of Charlie’s friendship group who Isaac was substituted for). It includes Aled’s journey of identity as a gay, asexual and possibly non-binary person and adjusting to life at university among other things. It is very sad in places and Aled’s mum is shown to be manipulative and emotionally abusive but overall it is a very sweet book with a happy ending.
Loveless follows Georgia, also a first year university student, and her relationship with her friends and discovering that she’s AroAce. Loveless was also in the background of quite few of the Isaac scenes and my sister kept getting very confused as to why I was pointing at a very blurry purple book and going FORSHADOWING as we were watching.
Both books have asexuality and the importance of friendships as key themes and are generally wholesome and uplifting, but be warned in Radio Silence things get worse before they get better.
i want what aled has. peace and flippin quiet
