Happy belated birthday, my love

Alois is a contender for my favorite character in fiction. Over the course of November, I worked on this drawing to celebrate his birthday, featuring Alois and his husband, Leopold.

Unfortunately, life got really complicated around the end of November and especially during the three months that followed. It was honestly the hardest time of my life, and I can’t say things will ever be the same again, but I’m trying to get back to creating, and that also meant putting the finishing touches on this drawing.

So again, even if I’m three months late: happy birthday, Alois. Thank you for coming into my life and always brightening my day. You’re the best fictional husband a guy could ask for.

The Lilo and Stitch live action was the weirdest fucking thing bc I hate it so much but it's also made me think about how much I love the original (and the series, and the sequels).

And then there's the Aleos connection which is its own can of worms.

I HC Leopold as half-Brigidi (yes there is trauma involved) and Brigid has always struck me as being inspired by Polynesia or Hawaii (thus making its inhabitants, namely Petra, Pacific Islanders).

I'm trying my best to reference a story I so dearly love because I do think the themes of the movie could work well with the Aleos fic, but I don't want to force it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that a bad piece of media made me appreciate an excellent piece of media and my OTP even more.
