Alexandra palm (Archontophoenix alexandrae) king palm, northern bangalow palm, or feather palm, is native to Queensland and New South Wales,. A beautiful neat palm it was named to honour Princess Alexandra of Denmark (wife of King Edward the 7th *1901 to 1910*), often called Alexander palm! wrong! (..ra not ..er). These two were already several metres tall in 1995. Now they are at least 14 metres (50 feet) tall. There are many babies growing under them but unless I want a FORREST I have to dig them up and give them away. These are established trees and need no care, only need to clean up the dead palm fronds and flower/seed panicles. These make good mulch/compost, but have to be shredded or cut up, or they take too long to break down. #palm #palmtree #alexandrapalm #archontophoenixalexandrae #kingpalm #foliage #foliageplant #foliageplants #australiangardens #austraeliangarden #australiannatives #austraeliannative #ausnatives #ausnative #birdfood #beefood (at Belmont, New South Wales, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZdkxUsJxSA/?utm_medium=tumblr
