This week’s random Disney hotel is the very exclusive Shades of Green. Why is it so exclusive? Because only military personnel, current and retired, can stay there (you can actually find a more detailed list of eligible guests on the hotel’s website). It is actually owned by the United States Department of Defense.

While I could have gone for a military-inspired outfit, I felt it would be too obvious. Instead, I decided to take the name of the resort literally and create an outfit using only different shades of green. It was a challenge, but I was determined to make it work.

To start, I went into my virtual closet to find the perfect green pieces. Unfortunately, finding enough green pieces was not an easy task. I eventually found a gorgeous green Aje skirt that has a lovely shade of green. I paired it with an Oscar de la Renta top in an earthy/mossy tone, which creates a nice contrast to the shamrock green of the skirt.

I selected a simple and elegant pair of shoes in a medium-dark shade of green-cyan that complement the skirt perfectly. To complete the look, I picked a fabulous purse that features many shades of green and is a statement piece that ties the whole outfit together.

Finally, I added accessories for the finishing touch. I chose a necklace that reminded me of dog tags (my only hint of a military theme) and is a simple yet elegant piece that adds personality to the outfit, as well as a headband that completed the polished outfit perfectly.

In conclusion, the outfit created for the Shades of Green hotel is a perfect way to pay homage to the hotel and its connection to the military without being too on the nose. The different shades of green come together to create a polished and elegant outfit that is perfect for any occasion. Overall, the outfit is a testament to the creativity that can come from working within constraints, and it showcases the versatility of the colour green in fashion.
