1956 - KEEPING GRANDPA'S PIPE LIT

NEW YORK - Maria Christine Aumont, 9 years old, daughter of French actor Jean Pierre Aumont, lights the pipe of her grandfather, Alexandre Salomons, with whom she lives at the Hotel Navarro, 112 Central Park South.

Yesterday her father obtained custody of her in court after recalling the tragic death in a Paris hotel bathtub of her mother, actress Maria Montez, in 1951. Aumont was appointed guardian of both the person and estate of his daughter, whose property is said to include an inheritance from her mother.
