throwing in my own two cents for @renewskamfrance‘s Alexia Day -
The reason I love her so much, apart from her fun style and loyalty for her friends, is her confidence as a bisexual woman. It took me years (honestly I’m not entirely there yet) to stop doubting myself and my sexuality even after I came out to myself - always going ‘am I really gay’ ‘am I really straight’ ‘am i just confused’ every other day -because it’s always been hard to find actual examples of it around me.
Bisexuality examples were starlets doing it ‘for attention’ and guys who figured out they were gay really, cheaters and frauds and mentally instable villains. Then there was like, Jack Harkness on Torchwood and I was like !!oh yeah!! it actually IS a thing. But like, he’s this uber badass time traveller conman who also sleeps around a lot, and he’s positive but not exactly relatable you know ? And a lot of bisexual characters in recent media are like that too.
Alexia is so normal. Of course she’s quirky but she’s just your run of the mill French teenager and the way she just says ‘yeah I’m bi’ like it’s nbd and she challenges anyone to make it into one is just...sooo refreshing. It makes me think we are going in the right direction, really. Oh, and the fact that she is, in this diet obsessed culture, a non-thin girl who is also flirty, at ease in her own body, confident and with a well developped love life, is also a super bonus.
Oh, and I love those unicorn shoes.
