The ‘Street Studio’ Project
South African photojournalist Alexia Webster has documented the stories of refugees and displaced peoples throughout Africa.
After one man said he felt exploited, Alexia decided to turn her job on its head - by setting up makeshift studios on campsites and printing out images to give to her subjects.

A Final Farewell to Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela (1918—2013) was South Africa’s first head of state (1994—1999), and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. He was not only a political leader, but a revolutionary who led the force that ended apartheid in South Africa. This year marks 6 years since Mr. Mandela’s passing in 2013, and in an effort to commemorate his life and impact, above is a selected few from the images Alexia Webster captured on the day of his memorial.
