Alexis Jamet’s Retro Modernism

Alexis Jamet is an Art Director and Illustrator who lives and works in Paris.  He uses pencils, paints, airbrush and his computer to create his highly stylized work, which has been utilized by many commercial brands such as Nike.  Alexis carefully constructs the feel of low budget grainy VHS animations in which the artwork does not all line up properly and the animation is very limited.  This look is unique because it is in direct contrast to the hard edged smoothly animated flat characters or shiny ultra-realistic 3D work that is generated by the motion design community today.  Style aside, it is often just beautiful,
