Hey, so while it's a huge celebration for autistic parents about intensive therapy being available to all autistic kids, IBI and ABA therapies are inherently ableist and often involve forcing autistic children to act "normal". And while it is supposed to be regulated now, these therapies often used methods of taking away necessities for these kids until they "act normal". Autism is not something to be cured, but parents will often go extreme lengths to "fix" their autistic kids when there is -c-
-c- nothing to be fixed in the first place. We, as a society, need to recognize that autistic people are not a burden and don't need to be fixed, and that rather we need to adjust to allow autistic people to exist in our society. It's important for non-autistic people to think critically about "treatments" and "therapies" for autistic people, who are not sick.
Also, I read about the ledges thing, try putting the ledges throughout the cage for leisure/sitting on not near their food or water. We had many ledges in our cage, and if we set any near the water or food they would poop there. I looked into it and apparently rats prefer to poop while they eat, so the ledge just kinda encouraged it.
My lava ledge which is the one they pooped on was the opposite side of the food and water so my boys just suck haha.
Although I guess that explains why I often catch them eating food in the litter tray...

renting a room is pretty good, just got to get to know the room mates first. it's cost effective, and honestly can help with mental health problems by having people around.
yeah i was worried about living on my own would be a little bad for my mental health. plus it’s way less bills to pay & sometimes they come with free wifi which is awesome!

With the article you posted about the Thunder Bay protest, the police here are threatening charges and calling it unlawful. Even though they directed traffic and posted on their page they would do so. No one was asked to leave, either.
