in Savannah part 1
Not too long ago I took the train down to Savannah for a long weekend. The train ride was a bit of a let down which was sad because I usually love riding the train. But nine hours in an aisle seat in a hot, crowded and noisy carraige was not a fun trip. No, not at all. Train ride aside though it was a pretty awesome long weekend. My favorite thing by far was discovering a semi-secret alternate universe of old treasures on floor after floor at Alex Raskin Antiques. It was like tumbling into another world and I could’ve spent every minute of my time there and been completely happy.
I’d admired this house before while in Savannah but had no idea of the magic inside...
If you’re ever in Savannah and you enjoy traipsing around an amazing old crumbly house that is full to the brim with treasures and mystery then head to Monterey Square, look for the antique shop tucked away on the side of one of the prettiest houses around and head on in. You’ll need to find the stairs with the door at the top. It looks like it’s off limits but it’s not...that’s where all of the good stuff is! I can’t wait to go back again one day.
