I DO NOT EXIST. That's a lie, my existence is all that I am certain of in the whole universe, but I don't exist on tumblr anymore, not really. I don't have a functional laptop anymore (which sucks) and tumblr is not the kind of place I'm anxious to be on in public. I've also just started back at school, so this isn't the end of the world for me (though I'm sure it is for you, whatever will you do without me?). But there is still me to be had. You can follow me on Twitter, or check out my poetry blog, or communicate through email. I'm not going to post that, but I will be checking tumblr for messages/replies only for the rest of the week. If you want my email, message me and I'll send it to you.
I'm planning on getting a new laptop is December. That's a long way off. If you unfollow me, I understand, do your thing. I love you all and hope to hear from you. Like Accio and Kyle especially, but all of you.
So, I haven't been on tumlbr in a while and am finally back and having trouble finding you IT SAYS YOUR URL DOESN'T EXIST AND THAT BETTER JUST MEAN THAT YOU CHANGED IT NOT THAT YOU DELETED IT
The point being, I finally got your postcard and would love to send you one back. I'll try to check tumblr once a day, please love me
alextheokay replied to your post: now, do I call this person right now or do I wait...
now? if it is that big of a deal then they will not answer and you can call tomorrow? but better sooner than later
I emailed them...again... but this time I left my phone number since I don't know if we have long distance calling. I've avoided making so many calls to Newfoundland this summer because it's [potentially] so expensive. but it's the caller who gets charged so if they want to call me, that's totally fine.
I asked if the apartment was still available, said it was the perfect location and to please call or email me, and that it would be great if they could send pictures.
alextheokay replied to your post: it is entirely my fault for l...
hey I am horrible at school and things but if there is anything I can do to help (ie find a certain article for you that proves something you already have or format a bibliography or whatever) just let me know my friend.
alextheokay replied to your post: folks folks i am gonna be in france for...
I guess my opinion won’t go for much but there is a disney world in paris I am pretty sure so I feel like peter pan would work? but as for le petit prince I think you could pull off blonde hair tbh, or maybe do a wig type thing idk
i hear what you're saying but i'm not sure
i mean, i imagine most people who live in florida haven't been to disneyworld? maybe i'm just making that up. but i'm going to a really small village in northern france like i don't know what the demographic is really or how many of them would've gone to disney
though to be fair france is a much smaller country so maybe it's way easier to go to things like that
re: petit prince maybe the hair thing isn't THAT important it's possible i could just have brown hair, i mean the clothing is pretty unique so i feel people would probably still be able to recognize me
this of course means i'm going to have to find/make a blue and red coat
i dunno
i don't know um thank you for your thoughts alexxx <3

1. best book you’ve read in the last year or so?
Oh man. I mean, in terms of geekdom I have been super enjoying the Before Watchmen comix but in terms of things people who are not directly tied to things might enjoy, I just recently read The Dark by Claire Mulligan, which was historical fiction book about the Fox sisters, three sisters from New York City who played a huge role in creating the Spiritualism movement. This book is like... it really is the perfect mix of fact and spin and I very sincerely enjoyed reading it, and can definitely see myself reading it again. I would definitely encourage you to check it out! it is lovely.
2. think of a time you felt really content with who you are and what the context was that brought that out?
Hmmm. Well. I sort of thought about this question for a few minutes and all I came up with is that generally speaking I am a lot happier with the person that I am now than I was a few years ago, and this is due I think in a very large part to having done to therapy and, among other things, learned to love/accept/tolerate things about myself that I'm not proud of. So although I can't think of any moment that stands out as like a zen-the-world-was-perfect-and-so-was-I moment I think what I do have is still important?
3. what would you bring to a potluck?
WELL. This depends on if the potluck has a given theme and what other people are bringing to the potluck (nobody likes a potluck with four kinds of salad. okay some people do. but. you know.) But if those variables are accounted for and I can bring whatever I want, I'd probably bring some kind of crockpot little-bit-of-everything comfort-y food. yeahhhh.
4. first song you knew all the words to? (do you still know them?)
Oh dear. Well, barring nursery rhymes.... my family used to make the trip to the Maritimes like, every summer or every other summer and for an impossibly long period of time during when we did that, my parents would make the trip with only two albums: a two-disc Elton John "Greatest Hits" compilation, and some generic Garth Brooks album. So I can say with confidence that I knew eeeeevery word to every song and every transition between those songs on all three of those CDs, but which one I learned first is anyone's guess. I definitely still know all the Elton John songs because I still like Elton John, but Garth Brooks..... yeah, no, still probably do, even though I don't listen to him much.
5. (stealing from elise) three songs that would have to be on your life movie soundtrack
hmmm.
1. 1 John 4:16 -- The Mountain Goats
2. Movin' Out -- Billy Joel
3. Starships -- Nicki Minaj
There are a lot of other ones. But. I dunno, there's three.
6. oldest piece of clothing you own, where you got it, any really important memory with it?
I have the craziest wool sweater... my mom and i think my great-grandmother knit it. By hand. It's ivory-coloured with bison knit on the sides/back/sleeves, and it's gotta weigh like four pounds. We found it in my grandmother's hope chest and I stole it immediately. It'll be lovely for Ottawa winters. I should post pictures, it's an amazing piece of clothing. On a related note, I own my grandmother's wedding dress, and while I wasn't present for my grandmother's wedding (.... obviously) it's my hope to get the dress restored (possibly resized because my grandma was a twig, i swear) and wear it when/if i ever get married.
7. turn-to junk food?
SOUR GUMMY WORMS FOREVER.
8. a few favourite words (and maybe reasons why)?
Renegade, coincidence, expedient, fierté, tournesol, mirth. Generally, favourites both because I like the way they sound, and because I have some weird fondness for the meaning.
9. most significant memory attached to fireworks?
I don’t have a lot of memories attached to fireworks! I guess I would say the most significant was the time I went to see fireworks with Satah and Laura and I think Caleb and some other folks… I think it must’ve been for a New Year’s celebration? But it felt significant because I think it was the first time I’d gone to see fireworks without my family, and because it was one of the last times I was going to be seeing those people all together for a while, and I remember particularly like poetically (pathetically) contrasting satah’s cigarette glow with fireworks in the distance and watching the boats and the stars and feeling just like, very alive.
10. a dream that’s stuck with you?
I …. really can’t think of anything.
11. an oldie, but, hop on a plane/train/car right now to…? (and why? and with…?)
Prolly hop a train, I love travelling by train. I think I’d like to go out west! ‘cause I’ve never been. I’d probably go with Naaman, he has lots of awesome family out that way that I haven’t yet had the pleasure to meet.
