He knew that it was his mother, since she was the only one who ever remembered, but he didn’t even bother with opening the wretched thing. The moment Alex stepped foot back into his apartment, he threw it into the trash bin, along with the rest of his junk mail. A heavy sigh escaped him as he sifted through his bills, and just as he was about to sit down, a hard knock to his door grabbed his attention. Fuck, he completely forgot about Tyler. Last year, Tyler thought it would be a grand idea to get him new acrylic paints, and long story short, he had almost kissed the bastard before demanding that he get the fuck out. Alex shivered at the thought, hating himself for becoming so stupid and vulnerable in that one small moment of his life. Never again... Dropping his bills onto the coffee table, he strolled over to the door, unlocking it before swinging it open with an extremely displeased expression plastered on his face. “ I fucking swear, Ty, if you got me another stupid present, I’m gonna beat your ass into next week, “ he spat as he narrowed his eyes at the only person who ever actually gave a rat’s ass about him despite how much he treated him like shit, keeping his hand held tightly onto the knob in case he needed to slam it in his face should the situation call for it.
