general disclaimer these are just my brain and how i see this relationship (also highly based on my relationship as i kin al and he kins finch and yeah okay anyway)🤺🤺
- al is autistic (bc im autistic and i said so) and finch has a full notes app of info dumps al has given abt his special interests
-they met and instantly became best friends and were oblivious to their own feelings for a long time. literally everyone else around them knew.
-like every single one
-they even flat out told them they were pretty much dating and these idiot boys STILL didnt realize
-and when i say everyone knew it’s because these nerds had PET NAMES.
-they would say shit like, “my love, i couldnt imagine a world without you. you are the air i need to breathe” and they still thought it was platonic
-finch would l a t c h onto albert, and al would be so ??? bc normally finch isnt a super touchy guy with his other friends but. he just wants to hold albert. all the time.
-one time finch was shooting around with his slingshot and al walked in unannounced & finch accidentally hit him in the arm, and al was incredibly overdramatic about. like it did not hurt even a little but he acts like he was wounded in a war
-al realized his feelings first and only told racer (“im not stupid al??”) and hid his feelings from finch because he refused to put their friendship at risk if finch didnt like him back
-racer tried to coax info out of finch after that and then accidentally told finch abt als feelings, then finch panicked booked it to ask albert out
-“Uhhh idk hOw to SaY thiS buttT i like you romantically and it doesnt have to change our friendship if thats not what you want and we can just forget this and-“
-“you dork. i like you too.”
-al likes to pull pranks on finch but they are always WAY too small or WAY too big
-see also: feather on the bottom of finches shoe (“tickle foot!”) & putting a full badger finches room (“WHY IS THERE A ANIMAL IN MY ROOM??”)
