Kevin and Jean relationship is so sibling coded to me. like I saw someone once saying that Kevin leaving the nest is like the older sibling living a toxic household, he HAD to leave and could not afford to look back because if he did he would never have left. and he had to leave Jean behind even though it was what hurted him the most, Jean was not ready to leave and Kevin could not stay and die in the nest waiting for him to be. but he still made him promise that he would make it out alive, that he would be free to.

and later on when neil asks Kevin what he has to lose Kevin does not answer but he still has Jean to lose.

once Jean is freed form the nest kevin knows Jean needs help but he also knows he can't be the one to help him, not directly at least. Kevin gives Jean the ho chance of a future worth living with the trojans.

Jean also cares for Kevin sort of like a sibling, he calls Kevin out but he always decnds him in front of others. I'm sure there is more but I've not read tsc yet.

Omg hi my favorite ask of the year 💜

My favorite is the All Melody (2018) album. It's the one i've listened to at the end of the cmbyn era. No really because it reminded me of the story in the first place but because it was safe and comforting. All the music with lyrics was painful at the time (as it often is when you're mourning a relationship ; and I was mourning even if the relationship wasn't mine) and there is none in this album so it helped me a lot.

Otherwise, Frahm's whole discography is very large, a bit weird and sometimes kind of experimental so it's easy to get lost. There are many I don't listen to

Why do you think Frances McDormand felt so strongly that her character and Zefirelli should not have sexual relations in the film? Do you think it was strictly related to the storyline of the film or that she was just uncomfortable doing a sex scene with someone so much younger?

Thank you for the question, Nonny! I like it and I'm actually glad (for once) to have read about the discussion before seeing the movie so I was able to pay attention to the details.

I don't know Frances McDormand enough to know if she could be uncomfortable with this but since she looks like a reasonable and smart person, I'm going to guess it wasn't it since there's nothing really uncomfortable with this specific setting. But since I don't know her, I guess I'm just going to project my own interpretation of it into what she could have meant.

To be honest, I kind of agree with her even if Wes Anderson doesn't. I feel like the relationship between Krementz and Zefirelli would be exactly the same with or without the sexual encounter, so it's kind of useless for me. I've only seen the movie once so I don't remember every detail that could prove or disprove the reality of it, but from my perspective it would be more interesting it they didn't. Like a way to say that a relationship between two people can look like a sexual affair without actually being a sexual affair but while maybe being an intellectual affair -- in their case. (SPOILERS) Towards the end of their segment, in the scene when Juliette calls them out on being in love or sleeping with each other, them going on with it (but not really confirm it per se? I can't remember) could be a way to say -- it doesn't matter if we slept or didn't sleep together, the main point of our relationship is elsewhere (in the ideas, opinions, writing, manifesto, whatever, etc. etc.)

But maybe that's just me and my wishful thinking for people to stop being obsessed with sex -- and other people's sex lives in general 😅
