Hands and Eyes for Al, Skin and Other for Caesa!

Large and kind of square in shape, with thick callouses (particularly on the tips of his fingers and on his palms) and very short fingernails (baldy wouldn’t even be able to so much as pick his nose, if he wanted to). The skin is rough and dry, prone to chapping in Skyrim’s cold weather, and can get kind of ashy in appearance simply because Alhusayn doesn’t keep up with any sort of skincare routine whatsoever.

Al’s eyes resemble his father’s in more than just the color; both have rather deepset eyes beneath heavy brows, slightly turned up in the outer corner. Faint crows feet have begun to take shape, but otherwise he hasn’t really begun showing many signs of aging yet. His gaze is steady, generally pretty calm with an air of quietly taking in his surroundings, but he has a habit of staring just a little too long to be considered polite.
Alhusayn used to wear kohl, when he lived in the desert, and will occasionally apply it if he’s feeling particularly nostalgic– of course, he forgets to wash it off later and usually spends the next couple days looking like a raccoon.

Caesa has the warm-toned olive skin typical of Nibenese Imperials and darkens easily under the sun… of course, living in Skyrim for just about her entire adult life, she’s a shade or two paler currently than she was as a teenager. She’s far more naturally suited for warm weather, and is usually cold (and annoyed about it). She bathes frequently (and would probably jump into a bathtub filled with lava given the opportunity, that should give some perspective of the sort of temperature she aims for in her bathwater) and spends a small fortune on cosmetics and bath products to maintain her admittedly vain little beauty regimen. Homegirl is generally pretty adept at keeping her thoughts and feelings from showing in her face, but the woman has zero control over the blood flow to her face and is very prone to blushing at the slightest provocation (embarrassment, anger, etc), much to her own frustration.

Caesa is lucky she has such voluminous hair, because frankly her ears are kind of goofy. They stick straight out from the side of her head like teacup handles. She wears three piercings with gold hoops in each lobe, a souvenir from a very persuasive friend (of questionable-at-best influence) on her very first trip to Elseweyr at fifteen. Her hearing is reasonably sharp, by vanilla human standards, though one wonders if her hearing would improve even further if she were to get rid of that curtain of hair.

Talents and/or Powers: Alhusayn is an extremely skilled musician, both in singing and drumming (his lute-playing is a bit mediocre). He’s an adept swordsman as well, and despite his lack of education he’s fairly intelligent.
Why Someone Might Love Them: For one thing, Al is probably the most physically attractive of my muses. I apologize for nothing. Physical traits aside, he’s completely devoted when he’s in a relationship (which is admittedly a rare occurrence, as he’s also extremely shy going into that sort of thing). It takes a bit to draw him out of his shell, but once Al is comfortable around someone, he’s humorous and fun and a little bit goofy.
Why Someone Might Hate Them: Probably because he’s a stubborn ass who projects unreasonable expectations onto people and then gets frustrated when they don’t measure up to his preconceived nonsense.
How They Change: *cackles* This poor asshole has just been growing more bitter and dejected with every passing year. Time is coming, very soon, for him to begin learnin’ some thangs. And hopefully he’ll end up happier for it. Eventually.
Why You Love Them: My trashbaby. Al was really difficult for me in the beginning– I’d never attempted writing a male character before– but now that I’ve gotten into his head a bit I really enjoy him. He’s another “mostly good guy” who just has some really shitty aspects of his personality and I enjoy it so much. His rigidity and unwillingness (or inability) to see things from another point of view is fascinating to me, and I love love love exploring the differences and similarities between him and Caesa.
