"Soothe."

"A dominant partner who is still able to be gentle when I need it. I have never had one of those, but I know I would enjoy it. Other than that? Quiet and mysterious types, preferably those who are in decent physical shape. Well, males need to be so. It does not matter much for females."

The Seven Ravens: Do you have any siblings? How is your relationship to them?

Lhys remained silent for several long moments before answering, her eyes fixed on her hands, which were clasped tightly in her lap. Either this was a difficult subject for the woman, or she was few of words. Perhaps both. Finally, she looked up, though her head remained lowered somewhat as she spoke.

"I had three siblings. Two brothers and one sister. I was the second-youngest. After my…trouble…in Dalaran, my sister and one brother stopped speaking to me for many years. My eldest brother and I remained on good terms, exchanging letters, and I watched over his children on occasion. He and his family were killed during the Scourge invasion, and I know not what happened to the others. I presume they still live in Dalaran, unless they moved before the city was relocated to Northrend. I doubt we will ever meet again, considering the circumstances."

By the end of the session, there was little that Lhys wanted more than to get away.

It didn't matter where. Anywhere, nowhere, just away. Away from the dirt and the grime, away from the gritty underbelly of the world, away from the shiny paper and printing ink that her skin was tattooed into every week.

The artists and photographers she worked with were usually fairly respectful, if not respectable. They didn't touch her, they did not make her do anything she did not want to do. She had worked hard for that status, up from the days of posing with sometimes two or three other women at a time, sprawled out in lewd poses and not even a hint of class between them.

Lhys shuddered, the memory of the Goblin's hand fresh as it smacked her rear between takes. There was a red mark on her otherwise-flawless alabaster skin, left by one of the green-skinned creep's sharp fingernails. They had been claws, really.

The Elf had built up a sizeable nest egg for herself, as she lived alone and had nobody to support. She knew little of what had become of the family that had disowned her so many years before, and she supposed they would not care. What she did now would not be much better than Warlockery, in their eyes. She had long since repented for the foul magics she had used in her youth, but such a thing left a taint on everything a person touched. Or so she was told. Perhaps it wouldn't have been such a taboo subject if she had only waited sixty years for her dabblings in demonic magic.

Nearly two years had been spent studying the martial arts of the Pandaren Monks, and Lhys enjoyed the subtle changes this had wrought in her body. She was sleeker now, and her skin firmer. She hadn't lost much weight, but some amounts of muscle had replaced some of the fat in her thighs, arms, and belly.

Lhys was more in demand than ever, likely due to those subtle changes in her physique.

But now, she felt as though she no longer wanted a part in it. Not if she was still treated as more of a commodity than a real, living, breathing woman.

She wondered what would happen if she quit. How long would it be before memories of her nude form faded from the minds of all who had seen her on the pages of those countless magazines and pinup posters?

More importantly, what would she do instead? She could never return to the Magistry, not with the lure of such dangerous magics still about. She had overcome her demons, quite literally, and felt that it would be tempting fate to put herself back within reach of such things.

Not for the first time, Alhyste Nightrunner felt a sense of anxiety gnawing at her innards. What was she good for, other than being a pretty thing to look at?
