I CANNOT CHOOSE BUT 12: Almost Kiss for their almost-husband & -wife statuses? :DDDD
“Mmm. But remember that time we almost kissed?” Iann asked and Alia made a lazy mmm response of her own.
“Of course I remember. The Aventine Wedding Chapel, oh Adorable Iann. That chapel was so garish and funny! But what came over us, driving all that way to get married.”
“As a prank! We’re hilarious,” Iann laughed and rolled over to his side, reaching down to pluck some more daisies from the garden. It would be quite the sight, really: Alia out in full naga-tail, coiled and slippery as she lounged her arms and head against an outdoor patio divan. And Iann, using Alia’s coiled tail as his own resting place. The human splayed over her soft curled-up tail, both of them lazy as-you-please.
What better way to spend a scorching hot summer afternoon, than in Grace Villiers’ impeccable English garden? The vampire was working and would be home soon, and Alia and Iann wanted to hang out; but for once the two extroverts preferred somewhere quiet. Where all they heard were bees buzzing, birds chirping, and their own conversation.
Iann plucked out the petals of another daisy; he’d murdered at least 18 flowers now. Alia on the other hand, was using her daisies to build all manner of elaborate flower ‘jewelry’. Daisy chains were too easy - now she had a display of slightly wilted daisy tiaras, daisy necklaces with multiple tiers and pendants, elaborate dairy crowns.
“Do you think if we kissed now, then we would be husband and wife? Without the almost,” Alia asked Iann. She lightly placed a tiara on his head, and then adorned herself with a crown and a necklace.
“Without a doubt,” Iann replied, because the both of them were so comfortable being playful together, sometimes it was hard to remember when they were just joking and when they were not.
Which, honestly, was how they ended up almost getting married in the first place.
“Well. We should make it official then, because it is summer and you are warm and I love you.”
Iann laughed, but then looked up at Alia and his mouth dropped open in awe. She was festooned in her daisy creations by now, and she was nothing short of gorgeous. Her hair, usually worn in a practical ponytail, tumbled loose and shiny and brown over her shoulders. She looked warm and oh, so inviting.
Iann squirmed onto his hands and knees, still balanced on her large coiled tail as he pushed forward.
“I love you too,” Iann said, his own tiara slipping slightly onto his forehead. “The priest guy did say all the vows. Technically all that’s left is one small kiss to make it official, hm?”
“Oh yes, then we will be married, we are simply one kiss away,” Alia agreed in a matter-of-fact way, playing along happily.
“One kiss away,” Iann said, playing along because she was playing along. Straddling the top of her tail, Iann craned his head forward. And Alia, giggling, did the same, both their lips puckered in a silly fashion.
“Alia darling,” a cool, crystal voice called out from inside Grace’s mansion, and Iann and Alia broke apart laughing at themselves and each other. After all, they were both just playing along.
