Yes that was a cut scene, he asks him if were to offer for him to come to bed with hiself and Lagertha like before, what would he say, and Athelstan just smiles adorably and looks away.

Having an 80s movie night and I just remembered the incident of Parental Punishment of Wee!Ran which was the most egregious incident of effective but unjustified punishment to my eight-year-old self: my father banned me from going to the TMNT II showing I had been waiting for for an entire year and took my sister instead.
It was a hideous injustice which was as much a punishment for her as me; I watched a VHS copy of TARTOLS 1 so many times the tape physically wore out and my sister was decidedly Not A Fan. I hadn't even done anything super interesting to merit the punishment, and sister hadn't done anything at all, but wow were we ever livid for about six months.
It turns out, thirty-mrfl Ran is just as incensed at her father's weird and weirdly targeted version of grounding as prepubescent Ran was. Man, resent-o-rama right now.
