For the end of year book asks: 3, 4, 18
3. What were your top 5 books of the year?
Okay, I had to go trough my whole Goodreads list and decide which ones were good and which ones were really good, this is what I came up with:
This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
The Mirror Visitor Series by Christelle Dabos
Can I just say Poetry by Mary Oliver generally? Wild Geese is still my favourite but I enjoyed her other works as well.
Victoria Schwab was one of the few authors that actually made me cry, I think I enjoyed Monsters of Verity most.
The Parasol Protactorate Books by Gail Carriger are DEFINITELY on top of the list, they are all SO GOOD. But if had to choose just one it would be Soulless... or Competence...or Reticence...or How To Marry A Werewolf...Honestly? I can't choose, that's why all of them are on number one.
4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?
GAIL CARRIGER I can not stress enough how much I love her books!
I want to read some more books by Victoria Schwab, I only read Monsters of Verity and Shades of Magic, but I know that she has some more books, I hope they are as good as the first ones.
I also read Rupi Kaur for the first time and enjoyed it very much.
Normally I only read one book/series by one author and then move on to something similar by another author so I may love that one series but don't read anything else by that author, if that makes sense.
18. How many books did you buy?
Ahhm... Let me just count... Physical books? 4 or 5 back in Germany, 3 since I'm here in New Zealand. E Books? 16. I mostly use the library.
