Some references for my Starborn Traveller designs! I just think they are. aliens. and i think thats neat uwu
Explanations and more details under the cut!
Basically, theyre designed to travel through space! They have wings (their ability to summon them was locked during the fight with the Unknown God) capable of flying through the vacuum of space and through the various atmospheres of other planets. They don’t need to breathe, they can basically eat anything if they need to, and they’re incredibly sturdy.
their wings and tail look less impressive without the feathers meant to adorn them, but since having their abilities sealed, they’ve been unable to conjure the feathers (which are made of energy, so would be coloured elementally as shown)
also i imagine they have a natural first language that is spoken but visual (like light they can speak into existence and read) that only really works in a vacuum like space, in atmospheres it gets distorted (i imagine it dripping from their mouths like liquid light. just a weird glowing liquid with the consistency of slime or honey). it fades on its own when the “sentence” is done being spoken.
Also theyre like thousands of years old but are still relatively young for their species, human wise I’d say theyre like 22, 23.
the doodles in the fourth pic are sorted with letters near them so ill go by that
A) their talons absolutely eat ass on ice or any other sheer low-friction surfaces. they get no traction whatsoever.
B) the more comfy they get with people, the more of their alien traits they display. they tend to mask around new people or people they dont like.
C) They can purr! and theyre veeeery snuggly.
D) since space is so big and you can go years without running into another planet you can land on, they’re designed to not need food or sleep! They need energy in general, which they can get or restore in a variety of ways. Their body is adaptable enough to be able to take in energy from the sun, from food, from sleep, or even absorbing the elemental energy of Teyvat! That does mean though, if they choose to sleep, they could sleep for a while...
E) Short, compact, and...
F) Extremely lightweight! They’re just not that heavy. Think the weight of like. A medium to large cat. Much lighter than you expect.
G) They adjust to gravity in interesting ways, so their center of gravity is very malleable, leading to some interesting climbing capabilities.
