Well, wouldn't the translator take cultural differences into account? It'd likely use the closest possible match from their own mythology.

Yes and what word would that be? Stuff like this just throws my mind into overdrive. Do other alien cultures have similar mythologies? What do they call the giant singular bringer of death?
