Thank you friends of the Internet! Apparently it's a late night thing for me since I'm once again in the janto tag at 2AM sobbing about long lost love and heartbreaking episodes that totally didn't happen, I mean can you imagine if Ianto died before his immortal lover who clearly loves him but is too afraid to suffer to admit it, could save him? Wouldn't that have been painful? Thankfully it didn't happen and they're living happily ever after, does psychological support come with those cookies?

Of course, friend! 

It's all rather like the Year That Never Was - the timeline is unsustainable, given how the universe has been rebooted with Harriet Jones as Prime Minister, as it should be.  But now that the timeline is back on track, we still have to cope with the memories of those events that never really happened.  And honestly, even the knowledge of their former existence is still a bit devastating.

And, honestly, a lot of what we saw in those episodes was Russell T. Davies shoehorning his own models of writing relationship drama onto an existing dynamic, basically fucking it up a bit.  And it's not like the events of Ianto's death could even exist anyway - there were plenty of ways to circumvent it, and we know it only happened because Russell wanted it to.

But, sad as it is that we don't get to see televised versions of the reality as we know it, we're not remotely obligated to accept the 'canon' version.  It didn't happen.  Because we said so.

So what do you think happens now?  What kind of shenanigans are the boys up to?  I bet we could come up with quite a list!
