I just watched Metropolis for the first time, and let me say I was surprised by seeing the references I had missed. Though it wasn't until the Thin Man put on his hat that I was like "wait a min, that guy is super familiar..."

Hehe, there's quite a few Metropolis references in Dark Science, but yeah Melchior is basically 1:1 with the Thin Man. Or I guess the Thin Man if he was forced to be a protagonist against his will.

One of my personal favorite visual bits from recent comics is, via marker colors, showing that Xiaoling is actually a pretty good artist (who loves hatching), while Kim is cruder, except for when she draws from some mysterious embedded memories.
