A serial killer who killed three generations of the same family in the infamous Clydach murders more than 20 years ago died in prison at the age of 59.

The former builder was jailed for at least 32 years after being convicted of his murders a second time in 2006. The appeals court overturned a previous conviction when a second trial was ordered. A prison service spokesman confirmed that Morris died at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire, where he was serving a life sentence. “HMP inmate Long Lartin David Morris died on August 20th. The Prison and Parole Ombudsman has been notified, ”he said. Morris had long protested his innocence and last year a BBC Wales Investigates broadcast questioned the safety of the sentence. It included interviews with two possible witnesses: one who claimed never to have spoken to the police and the other who claimed to have contacted the police to report what he had seen but no one replied. South Wales Police said they spoke to the two men and sought advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, which said no information was presented that undermined Morris' conviction. Morris was arrested after the suspect finger mistakenly pointed to Ms. Power's mistress, Alison Lewis. Former police officer Lewis and her ex-husband Stephen, a South Wales police officer, were arrested for murder a year after their deaths. Lewis' brother Stuart, also a police officer, was arrested on suspicion of hijacking the judiciary. All were released without charge.
