How do you feel about the Scottish lib dems?
You see, I wanted to like the Lib Dems. But Nick Clegg basically became the Lib Dem equivalent of Tony Blair and destroyed his party for power.
With regards to the Scottish Lib Dems, for all their talk of being pro-Europe and pro-EU… they seem to have a reluctance to embrace Scottish independence, and instead want to cling to an economic union that is taking Scotland out of the EU.
How is that working out for them? Ah yes, the same way it’s working out for Scottish Labour; terribly so. How many more seats must they lose before they change their mind? I guess them all?
And finally, the main thing that pissed me off about the Scottish Lib Dems? Alistair Carmichael.
You may recall that during the last general election, a memo was leaked that claimed that Nicola Sturgeon wanted a Tory victory. A politically explosive claim, and one that Nicola was quick to deny, as well as a denial from the French ambassador whom Nicola was to have to remarked this to.
It was, of course, a lie. A vicious smear designed to harm the SNP, as well as to save his own seat.
He admitted he lied, and the courts, as well as the Lib Dems, have failed to punish him for lying to the electorate. And for that, I sincerely hope that he loses his seat in June.
