So, you probably know that my name is Kelicia Hollis, and a few know that my middle name is Raeshauwn. My Chinese name is one that my 1st Chinese teacher gave me back in my freshman year of college. I wanted my name to mean that God loves and favors me, so she chose 郝恩惠/Hao Enhui. The first character sounds close to my last name. The last two are my "first name/given name." Enhui (恩惠){pronounced un-hway} means a favor given or received. It can also mean grace or favor.
Every time I tell a Chinese person my name they pause with a very satisfied look. They usually say."That's a great name." Though the meaning of my name resonates for non-religious reasons, I know that the specific "favor bestowed" to me is God's favor. The favor and grace that I bestow others should be that which Christ showed as he walked this earth. My main goal here is obviously conduct my Fulbright research project (excited!), but no matter where I am, I hope to bestow favor and blessings to others as well just as my name suggests.
So the title is a rhyme--Rae & Enhui-- :) but it also means that I, Kelicia, am full of favor and grace given and received. Just little note!
